A reflection on the lesson.

Image
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zApy3VdXRw A reflection on the lesson we watched and write how you would modify the lesson if you were teaching this group of students. I think if I were the teacher of the class, I would use English most of the time. Because the kids have previous knowledge of the class content and know how to answer the teacher's questions. For example "What color it is ? "the teacher asked, and the students answered it is a banana. when the teacher got the wrong answer she just changed the language to Polish and asked again. I think in this situation we can wait a little bit more and let the student think about it. Also if we want to teach students to know the color in English we can compare the different colors.  After watching this video, I think we should use more English in the class, and use the way based on student-centering. As a teacher we play an assistant role in teaching, more chances we should give our students to speak and practice.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVxDfuuillE&t=14s   What is your general reflection on the lesson?         Students got enough inputting knowledge but were lack of speaking practice.   What do you think about the warmup used by the teacher?         The teacher used flashcards  asking students to identify whether did teacher tell right answer or not.  Instead of answering yes or no, students  clapped  their hands or stamped their feet to answer questions. I think it was interesting but lack of chances to speak.           What lesson transition strategies does the teacher use?         The teacher used colors to divide students into groups that let students prepare to do next steps.  What teaching aids does the teacher use?        Teacher used a small test to help students understand more and transfer the knowledge that belonged to them. ...

Reflection for a reading lesson in a Polish primary school

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1kGeSKXiVo&t=299s What did I like?          When the teacher asks students to go to some specified pots in the classroom, she would use different colors and fruits for categorizing students and this strategy can help the teacher to reduce student crowding to one place and avoid the occurrence of accidents. What would you do differently?         I would first divide the students into groups and then ask them to be quiet in their assigned positions until I give further instruction. What is your general reflection on the lesson?       Students were highly engaged, there's no denying that teachers often do fun activities that keep students positively engaged.       There were many activities during the class, but there was less opportunity and a short time for students to participate in each activity.       The teacher spent more time organizing activiti...

Reflection for the video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=El3g57taeKs What is your general reflection on the lesson?  We can use games to motivate students during the teaching process. Teacher can have student's classmates correct the wrong answers, and then guide the students in practicing correct one Be mindful of classroom discipline during teaching. What do you think are the strong sides of the lesson?        Class is highly playful and can motivate students to be active and engaged. What could have been done better? Disciplinary organization before class is a bit short, and students are not fully focused yet. In the process of reviewing words using flashcard, some students actively participated and some did not. May teacher lead students to read at first, then play the games. When students are noisy, and the discipline is chaotic, teacher still did not stop to organize the discipline which may cause unsatisfied inputting result. How does the t...

About me

Image
Hello, This is Heidi. After a few months of teaching internship, I found that I have a great passion for teaching, especially in English teaching.  English, as an accessible communication tool, is a bridge that connects different countries and leads us to enjoy the multicultural world.  I am a lucky person who has been learning English for many years and has been experiencing the multicultural world. I am grateful for the support of my family and the guidance of my teachers.  With their influence day in and day out, I understand what kind of teacher I want to be. I wanted to be a teacher who could bring useful knowledge and new insights to my students, so I came to Poland to learn theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
