  • What did I like?
When the teacher asks students to go to some specified pots in the classroom, she would use different colors and fruits for categorizing students and this strategy can help the teacher to reduce student crowding to one place and avoid the occurrence of accidents.
  • What would you do differently?
I would first divide the students into groups and then ask them to be quiet in their assigned positions until I give further instruction.

    • What is your general reflection on the lesson?
Students were highly engaged, there's no denying that teachers often do fun activities that keep students positively engaged.
There were many activities during the class, but there was less opportunity and a short time for students to participate in each activity.
The teacher spent more time organizing activities such as dividing students into groups, letting students go to the designated location, asking students to be quiet, and letting students wait which causes not enough inputting knowledge and outputting practices for students.
The book for storytelling is too small, and the students who were sitting at the back could not see it clearly.
    • What are the strong sides of the lesson, in your opinion?

In my opinion, teaching new words before storytelling is a strong side for me. Because it can help students understand the content of the story better.

    • What could have been done better?
As I mentioned before, there were many activities during the class, but there was less opportunity and a short time for students to participate in each activity. If the teacher reduced some activities and paid more attention to the content of activities that help students get more chances to practice and perform what they had learned.
    • How does the teacher deal with classroom management?
She used the way of counting numbers makes students quiet.
    • What types of activities does she use?
Before telling a story, the teacher introduced some new words for this lesson which might be difficult for students at this age. She used games, competitions, and questions' ways to lead in these contents animals and witches, fruits and numbers, and so on.
    • What props and materials does she use?
First, she used a toy bear as a signal for students to answer the question of who catching this bear were required to answer questions.
Second, she used a storybook to tell a story that related to the new words she taught earlier in this class.
